Farmer to farmer networking is increasingly more important in today’s ever changing agricultural production community.
The Gaining Ground initiative encourages farmers to become involved in a local or regional network of farmers with similar interests and common goals related to increased agricultural production on grasslands and cropland, while enhancing the natural resources supporting those systems.
Currently in Virginia there are two specific producer run organizations that bring farmers together to share information in an effort to support the responsible and productive management of grasslands and cropland. These are the Virginia Forage and Grassland Council (VFGC) and the Virginia No-till Alliance (VANTAGE).
